THOSE DEAR LITTLE BABIES
Infants as learners are too young for structured programs. They are, however, very active learners that need plenty of love, care and stimulation. Our infant room offers a variety of toys, books, games and objects to explore and learn from. Our caregivers sing, read and talk with the infants in addition to basic care and play.
ESPECIALLY FOR TWOS
Our two-year old program is designed to meet the physical, social and educational needs of these eager young learners. The open classroom includes a variety of stimulating books, toys, games and activities. Weekly plans insure challenging enjoyable experiences for children as individuals or in groups.
OUR WONDERFUL PRESCHOOLERS
Similar to the two-year old program, our preschool program for three and four year olds utilizes an open classroom with activity centers available for the children to choose and learn in. Weekly plans insure stimulating experiences for these older learners. The daily schedule allows for group and individual play, free and structured play, noisy and quiet play, and time for creativity and self expression.
A TOTAL DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM
Through art activities such as painting, sculpting and collage-making, children develop muscle control, creativity, and a sense of self satisfaction.
Drawing and painting lead naturally to exploration with lines, scribbles and eventually "real" writing. Concepts of color, size, shape, lines and texture are discovered by children in hands on experiences with art materials. The main focus of all art activities is the process - what the child knows, does, and enjoys about their creations.
Children love cooking because moms and dads do it at home. Cooking experiences allow children to see, hear, taste, smell and touch real foods.
Children can see the physical changes the heat, cold, or mixing makes on food. Reading recipes, measuring and weighing are all a part of food preparation. Activities such as stirring, shaking, and sifting requires hand - eye coordination. Besides, children take pride in the foods they prepare and really enjoy eating them.
Too often early childhood programs are so busy "teaching skills", numbers, and letters that they forget the children. The most important thing we can offer children is confidence and pride in themselves as learners, friends, and creators. Creativity/Enrichment time offers a variety of activities aimed at developing children's self expression and appreciation for the little things in life.
Sunshine, shade trees, breezes and tricycles aren't all that's outside. Regular equipment and activities offer children the opportunity to run, throw, climb, swing, slide, dance, balance and on and on. Special activities are planned to enhance outdoor time through art, science, drama and creative play.
Children are natural musicians, dancers and singers. Activities for singing, listening, playing instruments and movement are planned to provide enjoyable and creative outlets for self expression.
Children need opportunities to explore and understand about their physical world. Units about animals, plants, weather, water, and foods will help children learn about their big wide world. Special activities such as hot/cold, sink/float, and land/water/air will be included in the science program.
Counting, recognizing numbers, measuring and weighing objects are part of our everyday program. As with language, we present math concepts in useful and significant ways - so children can understand them, Cooking, block building, singing number songs, and counting days on the calendar are all ways of incorporating math in our program.
As social beings, children strive to understand who they are and how they "fit in" with the rest of the world. Units and activities about families, places, cultures, jobs, and transportation help teach children about who we all are - and how we all fit in.
Understanding and using language is one of the most important task preschoolers will accomplish. We offer experiences with children's books, everyday print, and reading-writing activities to help children speak, listen, read and write. We will not use ditto sheets or demand that children read or write letters. Instead, we will offer meaningful experiences with written language - every day. After all, that's how and why children learn language - because they can use and understand it.

We've listed and planned many different activities for young children. However, lets not forget that the child - the "learner" is at the center of our program. These activities are to help children grow and learn to their fullest potential.
